In this interview, Ken Dunham and Jim Melnick, authors of Malicious Bots: An Inside Look into the Cyber-Criminal Underground of the Internet, provide insightful background on the bot threat. They start with the HangUP Team and some of the early Russian actors as the precursors to so much of the Russian criminal hacking culture that uses botnets today.
